Official: Shakhtar complete €11m Fernando signing

The young midfielder has joined the Brazilian contingent athis new
club as he will be looking to establish himself in Europe Shakhtar
Donetskhave secured the services of Brazil international Fernandofrom
Gremioin a deal worth €11 million, according to the club's official
website.
The midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the Ukrainian champions.
Mircea Lucescu's sidewere in the market for a new midfielder due to
the departureof Fernandinho to Manchester City and they see the
21-year-old as the ideal replacement.

Football transfer rumours: Fernando Torres to...

Barcelona desperately need a defender or two. So Barcelona are in for
a player whose best years were at Liverpool some seasons back.
They'rein for Daniel Agger, of course. Sorry. They're in forFernando
Torresof course. In the
how-to-outdo-Arsenal-in-signing-players-who-don't-fix-the-problems-that-are-effin-obviousstakes,
Barça are world champions. Apparently Tito Vilanova has been impressed
with Fernando's sulky sub performances for Chelsea and has a comfy
cushion on the Camp Nou bench for him to park his rear on. He'll
replace current sulky subDavid Villa, who is off
toLiverpool/Tottenham/Manchester United/Manchester
City/Arsenalfootball club.Chelseawill likelydump Torres
outsideNapoli's Stadio San Paolo, however, along with £30m and a note
asking for them to postEdinson Cavanito Stamford Bridge
thank-you-very-much.
Qatari lottery winnersParis Saint-Germainheard someone was worth £85m
yesterday. So, naturally, they're happy to throw the money at
whichever club wants it for whatever they're selling. Luckily for
themit's not a bag of spuds from Stoke. But that's enough of Charlie
Adam. It'sGareth BaleandSpurs. In fact they're going to pay £10m in
compensation and nabAndré Villas-Boasto replace Carlo Ancelotti as
manager first. You see, Bale's daughter, Alba Violet Bale, has the
same initials as AVB which, obviously, means it's an insult to her if
he doesn't follow AVB everywhere throughout his career.
If Bale does hotfoot it to PSG or Real Madrid, Spurs will have to
replace his GB initials in the squad. Today's Rumour Mill-monger would
be in with a shout if he wasn't crapat football these days and
contracted to a seven-a-side team in Holloway. So instead, £4mGareth
Barrywill step in. Probably quite slowly. You see,Spurshope he can
replaceScott Parker, who looks to have run around in circles for the
last time at Spurs. At 33, he probably can't take another innocuous
kickto the groin or ball in the face anyway. Unless it's
forSunderlandcheerleader Paolo Di Canio, who is interested. Spurs are
still hopeful that £36m will bring bothLeandro DamiãoandRoberto
Soldadotheir way from Internacional and Valencia.
David Moyes wantsCristiano RonaldoorRobert LewandowskiatManchester
United. He's not bothered who. He just loves his new comfy chair in
his Old Trafford office andthe fact that he can make inquiries about
such players without being laughed at. He may have to send a couple of
million euros the way of Bayern Munich to snaffle Lewandowski, though,
as they supposedly have an agreement with the Poland striker. But in
the meantime, he's going to sign theBenficadefenderEzequiel Garayfor
£15m. And then chuckleto himself at the novelty of it all.
Hubris'sNicklas Bendtnermay finally leave Arsenal. Apparently, five
clubs have made a £3m bid for the Dane, which isn't an awful lot of
money really, is it? Even for a Big Man who doesn't score many goals.
Speaking of which,Andy Carrollis close to completing a £15.5m move
fromLiverpooltoWest Ham, where Sam Allardyce is hopingto bringDemba
Baback on loan from Chelsea in the hope that at least one of them will
be fit each weekend.
Elsewhere,Aston Villaare going to spend £4m on theNordsjaellendand
Denmark defender Jores Oklore. After shambling around in the 4-0
drubbing by Armenia in midweek, hecould slip right into Villa's
patchwork defence unnoticed. Mark Hughes is going to pounce on free
agentDavid Bentleyand ask him to be free-flowing footballStoke City's
metronome next season. Having attracted no interest from Manchester
United– despite his best efforts –Yohan Cabaye's agent has sent smoke
signals to southern France instead, where moneybagsMonacomay get a
whiff and send £10m toNewcastlefor the 27-year-old.
Liverpoolare close to an £8m deal forSunderland'sSimonMignolet.
WithPepé Reinalikely to do one back toBarcelona.
"Let's all have an Isco," trillManchester Citybeancounters, who reckon
sending £15m toMálagawill be enough to get him parcelled up and posted
back to the Etihad.
Wigan foghorn Dave Whelan will interviewSteve McClarenandOwen Coylefor
theLaticsjob. Neither willget the chance to say anything so how he'll
choose between them, the Mill hasn't a clue.
And still no word on whetherTony Pulisisgoing to be the new Marcelo
Bielsa atAthletic Bilbao. Funny that.

West Ham in talks with veteran midfielder Massimo Ambrosini

Massimo Ambrosini's agent has confirmed thatWest Ham are in talks with
the veteran following his AC Milan release.
Ambrosini has been given a free transfer by the Italian giants after
18 years at the club and Sam Allardyce has identified the midfielder
as a summer target.
The 36-year-old also has offers from Major League Soccer clubs in the
United States but agent Moreno Roggi has revealed that neither this
nor retirement are options his client is considering.
"Obviously Massimo wants to continue," Roggi told the Calciomercato website.
"His preference would be overseas clubs, but if an offer did come in
from an Italian side, we would not ignore it completely.
"At this moment we are in talks with West Ham, while we have already
ruled out Major League Soccer."
Ambrosini won two UEFA Champions League trophies for Milan, making his
debut in 1995 alongside the likes of Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini,
Marcelo Desailly and former Hammers hero Paolo Di Canio.

Fabregas and Lewandowski give green light to join Moyes's United revolution

Manchester United are increasingly confident they can bring Cesc Fabregas and Robert Lewandowski to Old Trafford this summer after being given private encouragement from both players. New United manager David Moyes would ideally like to bring both the Barcelona midfielder and Borussia Dortmund’s Poland striker to the club before his squad departs on a tour of Asia and Australia in the middle of next month. It is understood both players have expressed an interest in joining the Barclays PremierLeague champions and United feel they can do the deals. Fabregas’s former club Arsenal have first refusal on the 26-year-old if he leaves the Nou Camp this summer butUnited are understandably confident that Old Trafford may prove more attractive to a player who spent eight years with the London club before moving back to Spain two summers ago. Lewandowski is keen to move to England after his hopes of a switch to new European champions Bayern Munich were dashed this week. United have been tracking thePolish star for months and believe he could provide genuine competition for Robin van Persie, who will be 30 shortly before the start of theclub’s title defence begins in August. His arrival would also increase the pressure on Wayne Rooney, who asked to leave Old Trafford towards the end of last season. Meanwhile, United goalkeeper David de Gea is relishing the chance to work with Moyes after getting over the ‘surprise’ of Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. De Gea, who is in Israel helping Spain’s bid to retain their European Under 21 crown, is confident former Everton boss Moyes can seamlessly take over from Ferguson. ‘Of course I am looking forward to the new season,’ said De Gea. ‘It was a surprise to us all that Ferguson left. But we know that when we get back to training Moyes will be thereand it is going to be a pleasure to work with him. Sunderland hire Serie A pair to complete all-Italian scouting team

Sunderland have confirmed the appointment of a new recruitment team headed by director of football Roberto De Fanti. De Fanti was pivotal in the appointment of his fellow Italian, Paolo Di Canio, as manager at the end of March, recommending him to owner Ellis Short and then helping persuade the American to give him his first Premier League job. De Fanti has also brought in a third Italian to give Sunderland a completely new management team , with chief scout Valentino Angeloni arriving from Inter Milan. De Fanti and Angeloni have worked together at Udinese and Inter. It is hoped they will dramatically improve the club’s recruitment strategy, although Di Canio has maintained he will have the final say on new arrivals. “Roberto and Valentino bringwith them a wealth of experience, knowledge and football contacts from acrossEurope and indeed the world,” Sunderland’s chief executive Margaret Byrne said. “We are delighted to welcome them to Sunderland. “The recruitment of players is key for any club and Roberto and Valentino will work closely with the head coach and the board to identify targets as we look to strengthen our squad.” Di Canio knew the appointments were going to be made when he accepted the job, although he will not accept players being forced on him if he does not want them. “I have said to them we need this type of player, thistype of quality, in this position or that position,” Di  Canio said last month. “So show me the players we can go and get and I will tell them‘Yes, this player is OK’, or ‘No, this player is not’.” Di Canio has already broughtin three players on Bosman-style free transfers thanks to De Fanti’s influence, Martimo defender Valentin Roberge, Basel midfielder Cabral and Lazio centre-back Modibo Diakite. One of Sunderland’s new arrivals this summer could well be Manchester City’s Swedish striker, John Guidetti, who employs De Fanti as his agent. The 21-year-old’s did not play a first team game for City last season because of a virus, but scored 20 goalsin 23 games while on loan at Feyenoord the previous year and Sunderland are keen to sign him on a permanent deal. Liverpool to seal £7m deal for Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas as Luis Suárez drops new Real Madrid hint

Liverpool target Iago Aspas will undergo a medical on Merseyside on Tuesday as Brendan Rodgers closes in on his second summer signing. With Luis Suárez repeating his desire to join Real Madrid, Rodgers knows that he must add attacking reinforcements and will be relieved to have secured Aspas swiftly during the transfer window. Aspas flew into Liverpool on Monday night to complete what Rodgers hopes will be the formalities of a £7 million move from Celta Vigo. A fee has been negotiated with theLa Liga club, and Aspas has agreed personal terms. Aspas, 25, was tracked by Rodgers throughout last season and he initially intended his purchase to complement rather than replace Suárez. With Suárez’s future lookingincreasingly to be away fromAnfield and Daniel Sturridge fighting to be fit for the startof the season, Rodgers will have to find further striking recruits in the next few months. Suárez’s public flirtation withMadrid has continued as he has spoken of the attraction of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. “Of course I would like to play with Ronaldo, he is a great player,” Suárez told Uruguayan radio. “You never know, but it is complicated. At the moment he is in Madrid and I am in Liverpool and I do not know what is going to happen.” Liverpool are still to receive any official word from Suárezor his camp on whether he will request a transfer, but they are expecting a £40 million offer from the Bernabéu. Rodgers will be keen for a swift resolution on Suárez’s future so he can start to spend on a direct replacement for the South American. The last thing Liverpool want or needs is the situation dragging on to the point where they have little time toact. There is recent history at Anfield of star strikers moving at the end of the transfer window with damaging consequences. Michael Owen did so to Real Madrid in 2004, giving then manager Rafael Benítez no time to sign a replacement, while Fernando Torres’s last-day exit in January 2010 prompted the panic £35million signing of Andy Carroll. Suárez has also reflected onhis ‘moment of madness’ leading to his 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic. “I know Imade a mistake in the incident with Ivanovic – it was me, my fault, and he did not do anything to me. I was angry because I had given away a penalty for handball. "I was the reason for the penalty against my team – I saw red and completely lost it. I can’t really explain it andI am so sorry, but the reaction was amazing.” While Aspas arrives and Suárez continues to agitate for a move, Rodgers is also hopeful of securing the £4 million purchase of 20-year-old midfielder Luis Alberto from Seville. Liverpool have been waiting to see if Barcelona, where he has been on loan as a youth player, take up an option to sign him, but the indications are that he is Merseyside-bound. These remain the only imminent incomings at this stage although it promises tobe a busy few months in the market before August. Liverpool have signed Kolo Touré on a free transfer from Manchester City and Martin Skrtel’s future could be decided next week with his agent, Karol Csonto, due to fly in for talks. The defender has been linked with a reunion with Benítez, who is now in charge of Napoli, but Csonto said: “There has been no contact between the two clubs. Martin has a contract with Liverpool and it is important to honour that.” source: the telegraph DO YOU LIKE THIS POST SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS USING THE SHARE BUTTONS BELOW LIKE US ON FACEBOOK FOLLOW US ON TWITTER @justfootballgis

Jose Mourinho wants to 'get the best' out of Fernando Torres

Mourinho began his second tenure at Stamford Bridge on Monday by insisting that therewould be no clear-out this summer and that he wants Torres to stay. Torres has been linked with amove this summer after what has been, for the most part, afrustrating spell at Chelsea since his switch from Liverpool. Mourinho said: "Fernando is more than happy to stay and work hard. If the best for all of us is for Fernando to stay, let's help him and try and get the best out of him." Mourinho, though, does not envisage the squad - which will see the likes of Frank Lampard stay on for at least another season - needing a major overhaul in the summer. "It would be easier if we did that, but we don't want to do that," he said. "We are happy to go with these fantastic, talented boys. Pique: Neymar, Messi will work together

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has predicted that recent signing Neymar will complement Lionel Messi perfectly. The Catalan club parted with 57 million euros to capture theBrazil international from Santos, and he will now line up next to the four-time Ballon d'Or winner at Camp Nou next season. But Pique insists that Messi and Neymar will not tread on each others toes, and expects the pair to bring the best from each other. "It is true that we faced him inthe Club World Cup (in December 2011) and although we won that final, he showed he is a striker that you cannot take your eye off of for a moment," he told Mundo Deportivo . "He is technical, fast, has a lot of ways to trouble a defence, I believe his is a very good signing. "Surely he will fit well with Messi, they will understand each other. The best players are always able to work together and they will. "The more good players we have, the more chances we have to win titles and that is what we all want. Furthermore, the presence of Neymar will help Leo. "Many times I have seen opponents try to drown him, with a crowd of players around him. With Neymar, at least those opponents will now have to be aware of another player. "And we also have (Andres) Iniesta, Xavi, Cesc (Fabregas), Pedro. Also, Neymar is one of those players that Camp Nou likes to watch, and that's always good because the fans are more lively." The Spain international also insisted that he has no concerns over the prospect of Barcelona signing centre-backs who could potentially threaten his regular first-team involvement. "Not at all. It is normal that the club try to improve each year. Here we want to win it all every season and for that we must have the best squad possible," he added. "If the club considers it is necessary to strengthen the defence, by all means. This season we have conceded more goals than in the past so we must improve. "Most of those who are linkedhave experience in the top flight. Thiago Silva, Mats Hummels, Vincent Kompany…they are all very good and are at great clubs. "But deciding who to sign is down to the technical staff. I have to devote myself to training and playing." BAYERN MUNICH will offer Arjen Robben to Liverpool in exchange for Luis Suarez.

BAYERN MUNICH will offer Arjen Robben to Liverpool in exchange for Luis Suarez. The Champions League winners are willing to do anything to gain the services of the Kop star, according to sources on the continent. Suarez has admitted he wantsto leave Anfield but Liverpool won't entertain offers for the Uruguayan. But Bayern are looking to testtheir resolve by tabling a bit that would see 29-year-old Robben move the opposite way. Dutchan Robben has been a key part of Bayern's treble-winning team but club chiefs are understood to be open to letting him go if it meant they could sign Suarez. Real Madrid are also in for thecontroversial hit-man, who will miss the first six games ofnext season through suspension. MANCHESTER UNITED, LIVERPOOL AND ARSENAL TO FIGHT FOR SIMON MIGNOLET

MANCHESTER UNITED, Liverpool and Arsenal will battle it out to sign
Sunderland keeper Simon Mignolet after his agent indicated now was the
time for a big move.
The Belgium international, 24, is under contract until 2015 but he
won't be signing a new deal at the Stadium of Light.
Mognolet's agent - and ex-keeper himself - Nico Vaesen told the
Sunderland Echo : "I think it is very unlikely that he will sign a
newcontract.
"Simon has obviously come to a point where he wants to step up a level
and there is alot of interest in him.
"He is very ambitious and wants to play in the World Cup, in Brazil, next year."
Mignolet put in a string of fineshowings for Sunderland and helped
keep them in the Premier League.
Vaesen added: "It was a goodthing that Sunderland stayed up and it is
a fantastic club where he has had three greatyears.
"But it is maybe time to step up a level and play for a club competing
for a European spot."

Liverpool have Carlos Tevez of Manchester City on their shoppinglist of potential Suarez replacements

Liverpool are considering a shock move for Carlos Tevez as a replacement for Luis Suarez . The Anfield giants , who tried to sign Tevez when Kenny Dalglish was manager, have the Manchester City marksmanon a list of possibles compiled in case Suarez pushes ahead with his bid to leave . With just a year left on his contract at Eastlands, Tevez could be available to the Redsthis summer for as little as £8million. The biggest stumbling block would be the 29-year-old's huge wages, said to be around £200,000-a-week. But the acquisition of Tevez, who scored 17 goals in all competitions last season, would go some way to offsetting the loss of losing £40m-rated Suarez. Tevez is understood to favour waiting until new City boss Manuel Pellegrini takes charge before deciding on his future, so he can find out whether he remains in the club’s plans. Brazil's Hulk claims truth in Chelsea £35million bid reports

Brazil striker Hulk has admitted there is some truth in reports linking him with a big-money move to Chelsea. Jose Mourinho has reportedlymade a £35million move for the Zenit St Petersburg star but the Russian club are said to want closer to the almost £50m they paid Porto in 2012. Mourinho, who returned as Chelsea manager this week, isalso thought to be close to a deal for Bayer Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle. However, Hulk could be another man on the Stamford Bridge club's list of targets and the player has always appeared keen on a move to the Premier League. Hulk is currently getting readyfor the Confederations Cup with Brazil but, amid the speculation of Chelsea's bid, he is quoted as saying by Globo Esporte: "If I said there was not anything in it, I would be lying. "But that is not for now. I am 100 per cent focused on the national team at the moment. "I came to wear this [Brazil] shirt with pride. My family and my friends are following me. I hope to win the Confederations Cup." Hulk started Brazil's 2-2 friendly draw against England last Sunday but did not score and was booked before being substituted in the 72nd minute.

start of the season.
Sturridge, 23, damaged ligaments during England's 1-1 friendly draw
with the Republic of Ireland on29 May.
Reports suggested the formerChelsea man could be out for up to four months.
But a statement from the club said: "Liverpool hope to have Daniel
Sturridge available for the beginning of the 2013-14 campaign."
The statement is not only good news for Liverpool manager Brendan
Rodgers, but England too.
Sturridge the goalscorer
Daniel Sturridge became the first Liverpool player for almost 40 years
to score in each of his first three appearances for the club, finding
the net against Mansfield, Manchester United and Norwich in January.
A four-month lay-off would have ruled him out of England's World Cup
qualifiersagainst Moldova, on September 6, and Ukraine four days
later.
"Sturridge's ankle injury has been reviewed by a specialist," added
the Liverpool statement.
"He suffered a high ankle sprain and Liverpool's medicalstaff had to
allow the swelling to reduce before a final assessment was made."
Sturridge has scored 10 goalsin 14 Premier League appearances since
moving to Liverpool from Chelsea in January for £12m, including a
hat-trick against Fulham on 12 May.
He has six England caps, with his only goal comingin a World Cup
qualifier against San Marino on 22 March.
Liverpool ended last season without several players due to injury.
Captain Steven Gerrard missed the end of the 2012-13 campaign to
undergoa shoulder operation, but the 33-year-old midfielder hopes to
be fit for the start of next season.
Winger Raheem Sterling, 18, is also hoping to be ready after a thigh problem.
Defender Daniel Agger, 28, missed the last two games of the season
with an ongoing back injury, while midfielder Joe Allen, 23, has
undergone a shoulder operation.
